Frequently asked questions.

Everything you need to know about HARO engineered timber flooring.

What is engineered timber flooring?
Engineered timber is a multi-layer board with a real European oak top layer bonded to a solid spruce core. It looks and feels like solid timber, but is far more dimensionally stable — ideal for Australia's climate and for underfloor heating.
How much does HARO flooring cost?
Price depends on the collection, board format and finish you choose, plus installation. Send us your room sizes for an accurate quote — and see our buyer's guide in the Journal for what drives the cost of a timber floor.
How is HARO flooring installed?
Three ways: floated with the glue-free Top Connect click system, fully bonded with HARO's low-emission elastic adhesive for the quietest result, or with self-adhesive ComforTec planks. Two-layer parkettmanufaktur parquet is always bonded.
Can HARO floors be used with underfloor heating?
Yes. The entire HARO engineered range is compatible with modern underfloor heating and cooling, staying warm underfoot and dimensionally stable. Bonded installation gives the best heat transfer.
Can HARO floors go in kitchens, bathrooms or wet areas?
Kitchens and living areas are no problem. Permanently wet areas need careful detailing — talk to us, or consider TRITTY 200 Aqua laminate, which is built on a moisture-protected core for bathrooms and laundries.
Can the floor be sanded or refinished?
Engineered HARO boards have a genuine ~3.5 mm oak wear layer that can be sanded back if ever needed. Oiled surfaces are even easier — they can be refreshed or re-oiled in place over the years.
Oiled or lacquered — which should I choose?
Lacquered and naturaDur surfaces are sealed, hard-wearing and very low-maintenance. Oiled surfaces (naturaLin / oleovera) have a natural, matt look and can be spot-repaired. We're happy to help you choose for your home.
What warranty do HARO floors come with?
Every HARO engineered floor carries a 30-year residential warranty (laminate 25 years), subject to correct installation and care.
Are HARO floors sustainable?
HARO was the first parquet brand in Europe to be 100% PEFC-certified, runs its German production on green electricity, and many floors carry the Blue Angel low-emission seal.
How do I care for my floor?
HARO floors are pre-finished and easy to maintain — regular sweeping, prompt wiping of spills, and the matched HARO clean & care products for your surface. See our Care & Cleaning page.
Can I get samples?
Yes — request free samples through our contact page and we'll send them to your door anywhere in Australia, so you can see and feel the timber in your own light.
Do you deliver across Australia?
Yes. We supply premium HARO flooring across Australia and send free samples nationwide. Tell us about your project and we'll arrange delivery and, if you'd like, installer recommendations.
Is HARO really made in Germany?
Yes. Every HARO floor is engineered and finished in Germany by Hamberger Flooring, Germany's leading parquet manufacturer.
